Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Elizabeth Ann Anderson Duckworth, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her residence.
Reverend Tony Keys and Reverend Brooks Porter will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McDonald Chapel Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mechelle and Joel Duckworth, and Jackie McRaney. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021 and from 10:00 a.m. until service time of Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Duckworth, Jacob Hardin, Wyatt Duckworth, A.J. Williamson, Colby Duckworth, and Caleb Keys. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Way, Chuck Shorter, David Chisolm, Ronnie Thompson, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Duckworth was born on October 3, 1938 in Collins, Mississippi to Lauther J. and Katie McDonald Anderson. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Duckworth worked as a secretary for thirty years of service before her retirement. She worked at numerous offices throughout her career such as Covington County Superintendent of Education, the Covington County Chancery of Clerk, and at the Larry Buffington Law Firm. Mrs. Duckworth was a member of the Mount Horeb Baptist Church. She was a founding member of the Faithway Singers, and has been performing with them for the last forty-six years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lauther J. and Katie McDonald Anderson.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Geames W. Duckworth of Collins; four children, Joel Duckworth, and his wife, Mechelle of Sumrall, Andy Duckworth of Collins, Suzanne Duckworth Keys, and her husband, Tony of Mize, and Todd Duckworth, and his wife, Allison of Mount Olive; twelve grandchildren, Steffani Duckworth, Jason Duckworth (Meagan), Ashley Duckworth Williamson (A.J.), Justin Duckworth, Colby Duckworth, Samantha Keys, Jacob Hardin, Emily Keys, Caleb Keys, Wyatt Duckworth, Will Duckworth, and Jay Duckworth; eight great-grandchildren, Maddox Williamson, Kadee Williamson, Josiah Ainsworth, Lillian Ainsworth, Jude Duckworth, Lawson Williamson, Eliza Duckworth, and Jack Keys; and a host of other family members and friends.
