Elliott Medric Brown, III

(November 7, 1946 – October 8, 2022)

Services will be held at a later date for Elliott Medric Brown, III, 75, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brown was born in Bradenton, Florida, on November 7, 1946. He grew up in North Miami, Florida, and later attended The University of Florida, where he met his future wife, Mary. He and Mary later settled in Chattahoochee, Florida, where they both worked at the Florida State Hospital and Apalachee Correctional Institution. In 2020, they moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to be closer to their son, Elliott, and their granddaughter, Sophia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott Medric Brown, Jr. and Martha Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Brown of Hattiesburg, MS; Sons, Elliott Brown of Collins, MS and Phillip Richard Brown (Annie McFarland) of Morgantown, WV, and one granddaughter, Sophia Claire Brown.
