Emily was born on May 12, 1990 to James and Lori Harvey Ezell. Six minutes later her fraternal twin, Elizabeth was born. The family was elated to welcome them both. She was a very kind, loving and gentle soul as well as a talented artist, writer, and singer. Her delightful personality and clever sense of humor were always entertaining to family and friends. Emily was a truly beautiful girl but, more importantly, she was beautiful inside. A bright and lovely light has been extinguished far too soon. Emily was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Nichols Ezell, Sr.; her maternal grandfather, Bobby D. Harvey; and two aunts, Lakieta Walker and Rhonda Edwards.
Survivors include her three children, Layla Rain Thornton, Abigail Hope Thornton, and James Alexander Thornton; her mother, Lori Harvey Ezell Wells; her maternal grandmother, Gelina Randall Harvey; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Jessica Nichols Ezell; six sisters, her twin, Elizabeth Ezell, Erica Wade (Ryan), Samantha Ezell, Lydia Ezell, Rachel Ezell, and Jessica Ezell; one brother, James Ezell Jr.; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
