Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery for Erna Bell Pickering Knight, 96 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her residence.

Reverend Brent Wade and Reverend Tim Beard will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mr. Danny Wade.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Pickering, Charlie Pickering, Steve Pickering, Mike Pickering, Wiley Pickering, and Jason Pickering.

Mrs. Knight was born on March 15, 1924 in Collins, Mississippi to Wiley and Alice Rigby Pickering.  She was a loving wife, sister, and aunt.  Mrs. Knight retired from Colonial Bread Company after twenty five years of service.  She enjoyed traveling the world in her younger days.  Mrs. Knight also loved to fish and play cards with her friends.  She was a member of Collins United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Knight; her parents, Wiley and Alice Rigby Pickering; a sister, Christine Speed, and her husband, Grover; two brothers, Kermit V. Pickering, and his wife, Loyette, and Denton Pickering, and his wife, Mildred; a sister-in-law, Ercell Watts Pickering; two nephews, Tom Pickering, and his wife, Barbara and Billy Pickering; one niece, Vivian Pickering Thames, and her husband, Willis; and a nephew-in-law, Rick Burrow.

Survivors include her brother, James Pickering of Collins; her nieces and nephews, Rhonda Pickering Wade (Danny), Rachel Pickering, Dan Pickering (Joyce), Clifford Pickering (Debbie), Jimmy Pickering (Dianne), Johnny Pickering (Sandy), Charlie Pickering (Crenda), David Pickering (Shirley), Doris Etta Downing (Neal), Dot Meek (Mickey), Mary Speed Burrow, and Alice Thweatt (Mike); and a host of great nieces and great nephews
