Ernest Dewitt Napier

(October 13, 1932 – January 1, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Ernest Dewitt Napier, 91 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS.

His son, Reverend Wayne Napier will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Williamsburg Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Hwy 49, Collins, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be Jim Williams along with Dewitt's thirteen grandsons and four great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be all law enforcement personnel, active and retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Sam and Alma Strahan Napier, five brothers and three sisters of whom he was the youngest.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Cauthen Napier of Collins, MS; three sons, Ernie Napier (Betty) of Collins, Wayne Napier (Bennie) of Baldwyn and Chris Napier (Abylis) of Houston, TX; two daughters, Marilyn Napier Stuart of Petal and Annette Napier Sikes (Robert) of Ellisville; ,. sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The Asbury Hospice House, 304 South 40th Avenue, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39402.
