A Private Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held later for Eva Maxine Ellzey Rawls, 84, of Collins, who passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Wesley Merit Health Center in Hattiesburg.
Interment will be at the Collins City Cemetery. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rawls was born on April 14, 1939, in D'Lo, Mississippi to Erby Sidney Ellzey and Victoria Jane Floyd Ellzey. She was one of four daughters. Mrs. Rawls retired from the Covington County Nursing Center in Collins after many years of service as a Certified Nursing Aide. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Rawls was a member of the Willow Grove Baptist Church,
Mrs. Rawls was preceded in death by her parents, Erby Sidney Ellzey and Victoria Jane Floyd Ellzey; her husband, William Vince "W.V." Rawls; one son, William Sidney "Buster" Rawls; and two sisters, Bonnie Ellzey Chain and Gloria Ellzey Vaughn Proctor.
Survivors include one son, Charles Greg Rawls of Collins; two daughters, Eva Jane Rawls Edwards, and her husband Tommy of Petal, and Tena Marie Rawls Corr, and her husband, Don of Mableton, Georgia; her longtime companion, Bryan G. Johnson of Collins; one sister, Kim Sibley of Slidell, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
