A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Evelyn Elaine Odum, 80 of Collins, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Asbury Hospice in Hattiesburg.
Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn was born on September 26, 1945, in Bessemer, Alabama, to G.W. and Nona Mae Lietch Holcomb. She was a graduate of McAdory High School Class of 1963, in Bessemer. Evelyn was a homemaker by trade. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Collins. Evelyn was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid fan of Alabama football and supported them every time they played. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.W. and Nona Mae Lietch Holcomb; and one brother, William Thomas Holcomb.
Survivors include her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Charles Odum of Collins; one son, David Odum of Collins; one brother, Kenneth Holcomb of Alabama; four sisters, Darlene Laseter (Curtis) of Alabama, Beverly Fulmer (Eddie) of Arkansas, Judy Lockart of Alabama, and Linda Theiss of Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
