Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Floy Speed Pridgen, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union North Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by Miss Donna McDaniel. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Beau Money, Dylan Moss, Johnny Pridgen, Jonathan Pridgen, Wayne Meadows, and Joe Taylor.
Mrs. Pridgen was born on February 7, 1936 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Pridgen was a member of the Union North Baptist Church in Mount Olive. She loved God, her family and gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter S. and Nerine Rawls Speed, her husband of fifty-eight years, Harvey Carter Pridgen; and two brothers, Carroll Speed and Curtis Speed.
Survivors include two sons, Mark W. Pridgen, and his wife, Brenda of Newark, Ohio, and William "Bill" Pridgen, and his wife, Stephanie of Collins; one sister, Iva Jean Wade of Gautier; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Stacey, Amanda, and Christopher; 4 great-grandchildren, Autumn, Cheyenne, Lily, and Ayden; and a host of other family members and friends.
