Floyd Alton White

(January 16, 1923 – December 23, 2019)

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Floyd Alton White, 96 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins.

Reverend Troy Hobson will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery with military rites at graveside.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be the Members of the Sumrall Bass Club.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Lynn Orrels Family.

Mr. White was born on January 16, 1923 in Holmes County, Mississippi.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Mr. White retired as a terminal manager from Miller Transport, Inc. after thirty nine years of service.  He was a United States Marine veteran of World War II.  Mr. White was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church.   He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Mr. White was an avid fisherman, and member of the Sumrall Bass Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Lessie Scott White; one daughter, Beverly Dean White; and his mother-in-law, Martha Hobson.

Survivors include one daughter, Terri White of Collins, two sons, Scott White and his wife, Marsie of Collins, and Al White and his wife, Stacey of Sumrall; his former wife, and mother of his children, Dean White of Collins; one brother, Ricky White of Lexington; one sister, Peggy Killabrew of Lexington; three grandchildren, Lesli White, Eli White, and Chloe White; his canine companion, Sammy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
