Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Gennievee McDaniel Speed, 81 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Arrington Living Center.
Mr. Catlin Neal will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mr. Catlin Neal. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Parrett, Reggie Jones, Joseph Humphrey, Catlin Neal, Todd Jones, and Larry McCarty.
Mrs. Speed was born on July 11, 1936 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Speed retired from Covington Needleworks after twenty plus years of service as a seamstress. She was a member of the Willow Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy McDaniel and Geneva Boyd McDaniel; her husband, Eldred "Goat: Speed; and one daughter, Kimberly Jane Zimmerman.
Survivors include one daughter, Nenita Karen Jordan and her husband, Billy Pat of Collins; one son, Anthony "Tony" Zimmerman and his wife, Melinda of Petal; two sisters, Troylene Burch of Mize, and Emma Jean Brewer, and her husband, Clifford of Collins; four grandchildren, Monica Jordan Parrett and her husband, Jeff, Jennifer Jordan, Joseph Humphrey, and Kim Jordan Jones and her husband, Reggie; and four great- grandchildren, Zack Vineyard, Parker Humphrey, Aloura Parrett, and Dylon Vineyard.
