Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church for George H. Tucker, 84, of Collins, who passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins. .

Dr. Barry Armstrong will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites at graveside. Special music will be provided by Jackie and Jerry McRaney. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Joel Easterling, Jeff Easterling, Jonathan Easterling, Jared Easterling, Brian Sanford, and Dawson Sanford.

Mr Tucker was born on Monday, July 17, 1933 in Seminary, Mississippi. His working career included employment at Reliance Manufacturing in Hattiesburg, owning and operating several gas stations in Collins, and working in the retail sales industry. Later in his career, he worked at Ramey's Grocery Store in Collins for numerous years until his retirement. Mr. Tucker proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong member of the Mount Horeb Baptist Church, and attended the First Baptist Church of Collins

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Lillie Mae Tucker.

Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Tucker Easterling, and her husband, Randy of Seminary, and Diane Tucker Sanford, and her husband, Lester of Collins; his former wife and the mother of his children, Margaret Aultman Tucker of Collins; four grandchildren, Joel Easterling (Michelle), Jeff Easterling (Rachel), Jonathan Easterling (Brandy), and Brian Sanford (Heather); nine great-grandchildren, Angelyn Easterling Carr (Josh), Cameron Easterling, Jared Easterling, Jadon Easterling, Walker Easterling, Haley Sanford, Dawson Sanford, Skylar Sanford, and Robert Fisher; and one great great-grandchild, Logan Carr.
