Georgena “Jeanne” Harvey Sartin
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 20, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive for Georgena “Jeanne” Harvey Sartin, 87 of Mount Olive, who peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.
Brother Ramon Johnston and Brother Dwight Carr will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by Mr. Randy Williams. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, 305 South Main Street, Mount Olive, Mississippi, 39119.
Her pallbearers will be Evan Sartin, Zack Hall, Jonathan Sanford, Ben Turner, Carl Sartin, Jeff Kelly, and Phillip Ponder. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Powell, Cooper Powell, Max Powell, Charles Powell, and Ricky Ponder.
Mrs. Sartin was born on April 29, 1939, in Seminary, Mississippi to Evans and Ora Elizabeth Johnston Harvey. She graduated from Seminary High School Class of 1956. Mrs. Sartin retired from Blain Companies after twenty-one years of service as an insurance agent. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive. Mrs. Sartin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evans and Ora Elizabeth Johnston Harvey; her husband, Robert “Bob” Norwood Sartin; and eight siblings, Evans Jr., Ray, Ralph, Bobby, Olene, Reba, Eleanor, and June.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Sartin, and his wife, Maria Dolores and Robert “Bodie” Sartin, and his wife, Lisa, all of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Lynn Sartin Yates, and her husband, Jerry of Brandon; six grandchildren, Zack Hall (Rebeca), Keri Turner (Ben), Evan Sartin, Kelsey Sartin Garcia (Jonathan),
Hayes Sartin, and Landry Sartin; two great-grandchildren, Killian Turner and Maeve Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or any charity of your choice.
