Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Lone Star United Methodist Church in Collins, Mississippi for Georgia Elizabeth Nicholson Lane, 90 of Dry Creek Community in Covington County, who passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at her home.
Reverend Tommy Shields and Reverend James Walters will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Lone Star Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Lone Star United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mrs. Lane was born on January 21, 1929 in Buckatunna, Mississippi. She was the seventh of eight children. Georgia loved to spend time with her family, cook, bake and was always active in her church. She loved to travel and enjoyed her time living in England during the late 70's. Georgia and Willie lived in Houston area for nearly twenty years where they were active members of the Bellaire United Methodist Church and Seekers Sunday School Class. For the past thirty plus years they have been retired in the Dry Creek Community and members of the Lone Star United Methodist Church. Georgia was also a member of the Women's Garden Club of Collins, Mississippi for many years. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend T.E. and Sara Nicholson; her son, Willie George Lane, Jr.; two sisters, Mary L. Nicholson and Alene Nicholson Felder; four brothers, Cecil Nicholson, Reverend James Nicholson, Eugene Nicholson, Reverend Charles W. Nicholson.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years Willie George Lane, Sr. of Dry Creek community; two children, Robert "Randy" Lane, Sr. and his wife, Vicki of Hattiesburg, MS, and Linda Dilgard and her husband, Barry of Maryville, TN; one sister, Jeanette Williams; one sister-in-law, Dimple Garner Nicholson; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Gainer; six grandchildren, Jennifer Domingos (Doug), Rob Lane, Jr. (Maribel), Hilary Paine (Patrick), Michelle Klebba (Martin), Kylie Carpri (Vincent), Sara Best (Jeffrey); Eight great- grandchildren; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
