Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church for Ginger Lightsey Confer, 69 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at her residence.
Reverend West Garner, Reverend Brian Dickens, and Reverend Brent Wade will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Pauline Lightsey, Mr. Jerry Clark, and Reverend Brian Dickens. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until service time on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Wade Clark, Jonathan Clark, Adam Clark, Michael Lightsey, Eric Lightsey, Darrell Lightsey, Chris McDaniel, Terry Parker, Drew Hendry, Ronnie Robinson, Wyman Brown, Greg Brown, Todd Dupre', Chad Lightsey, Dennis King, and Robbie King. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Confer was born on August 21, 1947 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Confer was formerly employed as the office manager for the Covington County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Estus and Susan Wade Lightsey; her husband of thirty-eight years, Edward L. Confer; a daughter, Jennifer Little Confer; two sisters, Damie Lightsey Brown and Zelda Lightsey Hendry; and three brothers, Estus Maxie Lightsey, Mike Lightsey, and Dorf Wade King.
Survivors include two daughters, Majorie Confer Gerald of Collins, and Catherine Confer Myers and her husband, Craig of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Floy Lightsey Bustin of Seminary, and Chellie Lightsey Clark, and her husband, Jerry of Laurel; two brothers, Marlon Wayne Lightsey and George M. Lightsey and his wife, Pauline, all of Collins; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Lightsey King of Collins and Mae King of Cleveland, Tennessee; one brother-in-law, James Brown of Alabaster, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Michael Confer, Ashtin Massengale, Andrew Rushing, Hallie Cook, Amber Little, Erin Little, Morgan Myers, and Toni Owens; six great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Massengale, Landon McGlocklin, Gracie Ganz, Alex Owens, Maisey Confer, and Lynnley Rushing; a special caregiver, Lana Ingram Weil of Collins; and a host of nieces, and nephews.
