Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery for Glen Hampton Cross, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Mississippi Care Center in Raleigh.
Reverend Rudolph Sims will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Cross was born on May 21, 1937 in Collins, Mississippi. He was the owner and operator of C. & O. Auto Parts in Collins for thirty years. Mr. Cross was a member of the Ora Baptist Church. He served for six years in the National Guard and Army Reserve. Mr. Cross was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Carolyn Harvey Cross; and his parents, Glen Wood Cross and Camille Biglane Cross.
Survivors include one daughter, Pam Cross Shoemake, and her husband, Bob of Collins; one son, Joey Cross of Collins; four grandchildren, Roman Shoemake, and his wife, Morgan of Collins, Woodsen Shoemake Graves, and her husband, Clark of Seminary, Lee Shoemake, and his wife, Taylor of Collins, and Sawyer Cross, and his wife, Olivia of Collins; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
