Harvey Franklin Spears Sr.
(August 16, 1943 – March 12, 2018)
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Harvey Franklin Spears Sr., 74 of Seminary, who passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence. Bro. Randy Sanford and Mr. Marc Morgan will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Spears Family Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Military honors will be provided by members of the Lacy Kelly VFW Post 3036, Hattiesburg, MS.
Pallbearers will be Josh Morgan, John Morgan, Robert Christian, Timothy Christian, Richard Christian and Matt Runnels.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Anderton and Michael Richard.
Mr. Spears was a veteran of the United States Army. During his enlistment, he served 3 tours in Vietnam as well as posts in Panama and Germany. He attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University and later moved to California where he started his own businesses. In 1986, he moved to MS where he lived out the rest of his days. Mr. Spears was well loved and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clifford Spears and Virgie Mullins Spears and siblings, Dale Spears, Herman Spears, Connie Spears and Ruby Spears.
Survivors include his wife, Neldra Spears; children, Harvey "Frankie" Spears Jr. (Michele), Justin, TX, Connie Lawson (David), Vancleave, MS, Michael Spears, Laurel, MS, Harvey Spears, Collins, MS, Melissa Kakuk (Johnny), Petal, MS, Elizabeth Cates, Magee, MS, Alisha Runnels (Matt), Seminary, MS and Jennifer Gillespie, Wichita, KS; 24 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Spears, Gore, OK, Troy Spears (Jody), San Antonio, TX, Elaine Webster (Buddy), CA, Goat Spears, Seminary, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.
