Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Hattie Mae Dennis, 81, of Mount Olive, who passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at her residence.
Reverend Larry Dennis Jr. will officiate and provide music at the services with interment to follow in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Hwy 49, Collins, Mississippi.
Mrs. Hattie, "Koot" as she was known, was the kindest, most generous, loving woman, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and anything else she needed to be to anyone she ever met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Dennis; father, Fred Hand; mother, Flora Sullivan Hand; six brothers; one sister; and three great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Tony Dennis (Cheryll) of Sumrall, MS and Gary Dennis (Patsy) of Mount Olive, MS; daughters, Sarah Greer (Steven) of Mount Olive, MS, Mary Carter of New Hebron, MS, Eva Rosado of Collins, MS and Charlotte Warren of Mount Olive, MS; step-son, Jerry Dennis of Franklinton, LA; step-daughters, Alice Jackson of Florence, MS and Angela Hoffberg (Gil) of Ridgeland, MS; brothers, Cecil Hand of Mount Olive, MS and Albert Hand (Hilda Jean) of Collins; sister, Marie Floyd (Charles) of Ellisville, MS; thirty-six grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
We would like to give a very large thank you to her niece Carol Jean Wilburn for all of her love and support though this time. She was amazing, and we could not have done it without her!
