Hazel Eveon McCarty

(November 15, 1927 – June 2, 2019)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Willow Grove Baptist Church in Collins, MS for Hazel Eveon McCarty, 91 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Bro. Rocky Holston and Bro. Billy Purser will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.Special music will be provided by Mr. John Garner and Mrs. Crystal McCarty. BillyM. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements. 601-765-1010

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Neal McCarty, John McCarty, William Davenport, Jay O'Hern, John Tynes and Sam Yates. Tony McCarty will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Hazel had a deep love for people, especially her family.  She enjoyed fishing and growing vegetables which she then prepared for her loved ones.  She enjoyed being outdoors, especially planting and tending her flowers.  She loved her Lord and her church family at Willow Grove Baptist Church.  She enjoyed quilting with the ladies of the church, and working in the church ministries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Earl McCarty; parents, William Alec Davenport and Mattie Lucy Beard Davenport; siblings, Walter Davenport, Moses Davenport, Earnest Davenport, William Austin Davenport, Mildred Davenport Manning, Nolan Davenport, Audrey Davenport Lightsey, Gwendolyn Davenport Yawn, Clifton Davenport, Herbert Davenport, and two infant brothers.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Wayne McCarty (Aberdean), Madden, MS, Charles Leonard McCarty (Ann), Summit MS, Larry  Earl McCarty (Belinda), Seminary, MS, Rita Dianne McCarty, Collins, MS; grandchildren, Abby Yates (Mark), Dixon, MS, Cliff McCarty, Sebastapol, MS, John McCarty (Heather), Union, MS, Crystal O'Hern (Jay), Summit, MS, Neal McCarty (Mallory), Greenville, MS, Reggie Jones (Kim), Collins, MS and Todd Jones (Katielyn), Collins, MS; great grandchildren, Sam Yates, Waylon Yates, Adalyn McCarty, Madison Delancey, Joshua McCrary, Emma McCarty, Emily O'Hern, Natalie O'Hern and Reece McCarty.
