Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Henry Wilson Jones, 85 of Collins, who passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Reverend Ronnie Bishop and Reverend Danny Forrest will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Babette Duty and Mr. Noah Sanford. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.
His pallbearers will be Michael Yawn, Mason Yawn, Mark Yawn, Jimmy Dale Yawn, Robert Evans, and Fontaine McNair. Honorary pallbearers will Dave Bender, James Herrin, Danny King, T.D. Easterling, Wayne Harvey, Dr. Billy Mack Pickering, and the members of the Okatoma Water Board.
Mr. Jones was born on December 19, 1940, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He retired from Collinswood after numerous years of service as the egg plant manager and as a self-employed farmer. Mr. Jones was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Collins. He served his country for eight years in the National Guard. Mr. Jones served on the Okatoma Water Board for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and friend, and will be greatly missed by his family members and friends,
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat Jones and Edna Knight Arinder; his sister, Patricia Jones Lampley; his parents-in-law, Ollie and Lois Wilson Sanford; three sisters-in-law, Pauline Sanford Rivers (Berlin), Betty Sanford Stubbs (Hugh), and Elaine Sanford Gentry (Charlie); and one nephew, Randy Rivers.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Jerry Sue Sanford Jones of Collins; one son, Kyle Jones of Ridgeland; one nephew, Jason Taylor; four nieces, Virginia Lowery (Jimmy), Shelia Chachere (Richard), Tammie Briscoe, and Hope Daley (Larry); a special family friend, Paul Runnels of Collins; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Covington County Gideons International, P.O. Box 1562, Collins, Mississippi, 39428 or to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, North Carolina, 28607.
