Herbert Elon Sasser
(March 1, 1946 – June 25, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Herbert Elon Sasser, 78 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Collins Hospital in Collins, Mississippi.
Brother Stephen Bush and Brother Chuck Parrish will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Graves II, Chris Graves, A.J. Sasser, Kevin Jones, Reggie Jones, and Jason Graham.
Mr. Herbert was married to the love of his life, Jonafe, for nearly twenty four years. He was a vietnam veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved to hunt and fish and the outdoors. He loved his sisters poundcake and dumplings. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Sasser; parents, Aaron Sasser, Sr. and Margie Buck Sasser;  brothers, Aaron Sasser, Jr. and Hammond Sasser;  sister, Diane Sasser Curtis;  great grandson, River Lott;  nephew, Chad Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Jonafe Cadiz Sasser of Collins, MS;  sons, Brian Sasser of Hattiesburg, Anthony Sasser of Stringer, Bert Ponder (Judy) of El Paso, TX;  daughter, Christy Graves (Chris) of Collins;  sisters, Marilyn Roberts (James) of Oak Grove, Wanda Sue Young of Laurel;  grandsons, A.J. Sasser (Chastity) of Fort Drum, NY, Stephen Sasser of Mize, Christopher Graves, II of Collins and Chandler Menne of Bogalusa, LA;  granddaughters, Sylvia Ponder of Mount Olive, Samantha Chandler of Moselle and Summer Lott (Micah) of Seminary;  great grandsons, Kaine Chandler, Bear Sasser;  great granddaughters, Brynlee Chandler and Kaylyn Sasser.
