Herston Wade

(October 2, 1948 – September 20, 2021)

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 34 Mount Beulah Drive in Collins for Herston Wade, 72 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Merit Health-Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Alfred Balthazar and Reverend Dennis Campbell will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by the Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church Choir.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Wade Barr, Devan Brewer, Eythan Williams, Chanlor Holmes, Wesley Schlautman, and Brandon Schlautman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Barr, Shane Knight, Scott Byrne, and Drew Collins.

Mr. Wade was born on October 2, 1948 in Magee, Mississippi to Clifton H. and Nelma McLaurin Wade.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  Mr. Wade worked as a welder and crane operator for the majority of his working career.  He worked for numerous companies such as PALA, and Chicago Bridge and Iron.  Mr. Wade was currently employed by the City of Collins in their Maintenance Department.  He proudly served his country in the National Guard for numerous years.  Mr. Wade was a member of the Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Wade was a good man and friend to all that knew him.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton H. Wade and Nelma McLaurin Wade; two brothers, Larry Wade and Sonny Michael Wade; and a nephew, Clifton Casey Wade.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Theresa Jo Nagy Wade of Collins; eight children, Ryan Wade (Maria) of Louisville, Ohio, Leisa Bohon (Jack) of Crooksville, Ohio, Karri Wade Barr (Buddy) of Collins, Herston Blake Wade of Vicksburg, Jason Jones of Laurel, Tissy Knight (Shane) of Collins, Chris Schlautman (Ticia) of Daphne, Alabama, and Shay Byrne (Scott) of Collins; one brother, Clifton Collette Wade (June) of Collins; a sister-in-law, Bonnie G. Wade of Collins; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
