Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Salem Baptist Church in Collins for Houston J. Jones, 76 of Collins, who passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Dennis Campbell and Reverend Brian Dickens will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Donna Campbell and Mr. Jeremy Johnson. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Salem Baptist Church in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Herston Wade, Neal Campbell, Colby Neal, Bruce Gresham, Randy Gordon, and Larry Waters. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Chain, Collette Wade, and the Deacons of the Salem Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones was born on November 21, 1943 in Collins, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, and brother. Mr. Jones retired from Chevron Inc. after thirty-two years of service as an over water production superintendent. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stafford and Bernice Abercrombie Jones; a brother, Buck Jones; and his grandparents, Cape and Molly Jones and Ike and Mandy Abercrombie.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Linda Hamilton Jones of Collins; one son, Andy Jones, and his wife, Deanna of Collins; two daughters, Donna Jones and Tori Jones Easterling, and her husband, Guy, all of Collins; six grandchildren, Hunter Easterling, Meagan Easterling, Madison Easterling, Morgan Jones McDaniel, and her husband, Lindsey, Mary Taylor Jones, and Dant Houston Easterling; a sister, Jerrie Jones Laney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of other family members and friends.
