Hugh B. Duckworth

(September 23, 1935 – July 30, 2020)

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive for Hugh B. Duckworth, 84 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his residence..

Dr. Bob Phillips will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Bodie Sartin, Larry Sartin, Evan Sartin, Zack Hall, Jeff Kelly and Philip Ponder.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Ponder, Greg Kelly, Kenneth Nelson, and Carlos Knight.

Mr. Duckworth was born on September 23, 1935 in Mount Olive, Mississippi.  He retired from Exxon, Inc. after thirty-two plus years of service as a truck driver.  Mr. Duckworth was also a cattle farmer and enjoyed spending time on his farm.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch James Duckworth and Lura Burns Duckworth ; one sister, Dorothy Duckworth Ferguson; six brothers, Cecil Duckworth, Leonard Duckworth, Irl Duckworth, Kenneth Duckworth, Winston Duckworth and William C. Duckworth.

Survivors include his special friend and caretaker, Jeanne Sartin of Mount Olive; and a host of nieces and nephews especially Bill Duckworth and Jimmy Duckworth.
