Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Hugh James Rush, 50 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at his residence in Mount Olive.
Brother West Garner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Leaf River Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Paige Hetrick. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Billy m. king-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Whitehurst, Brian Whitehurst, Thomas Bland, Rebel Knight, James Yeager, and Alton Bland. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Rush, Dudley King, Cody King, Reed King, Robert Simoneau, and David Ponder.
Mr. Rush was born on October 7, 1970 in Collins, Mississippi. He was a loving son, father, pawpaw, and brother. Mr. Rush worked as a lineman for numerous years in the electrical utilities industry. He worked for several different companies throughout his career but worked for East Bay Electric before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gwinn Rush; one sister, Gwendolyn Rush; a nephew, Tyler Rush; and a niece, Paige King.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Barbara Rush Simoneau, and Robert Simoneau of Decatur; his wife, Brenda Watkins Rush of Newton; one son, Josh Rush of Mount Olive; one daughter, Kelli Rush Knight, and her husband, Rebel of Picayune; three grandsons, Matthew Knight, Easton Knight, and Joseph Knight; one brother, Dale Rush, and his wife, Lisa of Richton; one sister, Vickie Rush King, and her husband, Dudley of Mount Olive; and a host of nieces and nephews.
