Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Santee United Methodist Church in Bassfield for Iris Linn King Phillips, 81 of Bassfield, who passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Merit Health-Rankin Hospital in Brandon.
Reverend Rob Webb will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Daniel King Cemetery, George W. King Road, Bassfield, Mississippi, 39421. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Santee United Methodist Church, 572 Santee Methodist Church Road, Bassfield, MS 39421.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Mrs. Phillips was born on May 25, 1939 in Prentiss, Mississippi. She graduated from Carson High School and then earned an Associate's Degree in Interior Design. Mrs. Phillips was the owner and operator of King's Sew and Save until her retirement. She was a member of the Santee United Methodist Church in Bassfield.
Mrs. Phillips was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Phillips was an expert baker and cake decorator. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Phillips and her parent, George Corley King and Vera Graham King.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Phillips, and her husband, Jay Stein of West Lafayette, Indiana; one son, Greg Phillips, and his wife, Edna of Prentiss; two sisters, Sara King of Tallahassee, Florida and Alma King Polk, and her husband, Jerry of Hattiesburg; five grandchildren, Erica Phillip Smalley , and her husband, Danny, Brannon Lane, and his wife, Erin, Anna Phillips Whitehead, and her husband, Chase, Ariel Phillips Culp, and Jessie Phillips Stein; two great-grandchildren, Graham Whitehead and Nolan Whitehead; four nieces, Sheron Wigington, and her husband, Barry, Kaye Wagner, Lynn Phillips, and Jill Phillips Colee; and one nephew, Jeff Polk.
