Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Mount Olive Presbyterians Church in Mount Olive for Jackie E. Magee, 82, of Sumrall, formerly of Mount Olive, who passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Joe Gardner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Mary John Kimbrough. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and from 1:00 pm. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.
Pallbearers will be Rex Magee, Noah Magee, Bo Bankston, Jake Burnham, Connor Wright, and Jeff Wright. Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Magee.
Mr. Magee was born on Thursday, March 25, 1937 in Mount Olive, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Magee retired after numerous years of service as a truck driver in the Transportation industry. He was a member of the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Tew Magee; his parents, Luther T. Magee and Marie Manning Magee; and a brother, Tommy Joe Magee.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie Magee Wright, and her husband, Jeff of Sumrall, and Ginnie Wadsworth, and her husband, Crayton of Magee; two sons, Jeff Magee, and his wife, Melissa of Mize, and Craig Magee, and his wife, Beverly of Magee; one brother, Billy Magee, and his wife, Doris of Mount Olive; eleven grandchildren, Connor Wright, Gabby Rainey, Lynley Blakeney, Jake Burnham (Charlotte), Jessie Magee, Jason Magee, Justin Magee, Ashley Nichols, Landrie Wadsworth, Levi Wadsworth, and Layden Wadsworth; eight great-grandchildren, Heidi Cockrell, Maddie Cockrell, J.W. Blakeney, Isabella Magee, Victoria Magee, Mason Magee, Maddilynn Magee, and Katie Mayfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
