Jackie Ruth White was born November 26, 1938, to Jack and Helen Simmons White in Picayune, MS. She began playing piano at an early age and shared her love of music all her life, playing at church and teaching dozens of children piano lessons. After graduating Picayune Memorial High School in 1956, she attended Spencer-Draughon Business College in Baton Rouge, then married the great love of her life, Frank Worthy, in 1957. She worked as a secretary while he attended Mississippi State, and they moved to Baton Rouge in 1959, eventually opening their own insurance agency where they worked side by side for many years. Jackie was an active member of Broadmoor UMC until she and Frank retired to Collins, MS where they joined Williamsburg Methodist Church. She played piano for services at Williamsburg until just a few months ago. Jackie loved music, people, and her Lord. She combined the three by conducting weekly services at area nursing and retirement homes. She was active in the Methodist Women's groups and Tom Thumb Garden Club.
Those who welcomed her into Heaven were her husband of fifty years, Frank Gates Worthy; her parents, Jack Mercer White and Helen Ruth Simmons White; and her brother, Arthur Wayne White.
Survivors include one son, Michael Wayne Worthy, and his wife, Stephanie of Baton Rouge, LA; one daughter, Tana Worthy Cramp, and her husband, Edmund of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren, Karli Worthy Falcon, and her husband Roman, Brittany Broussard, Louise Cramp, and Taylor Worthy; one great-granddaughter, Meredith Michael Falcon; and a host of other family members and friends.  She also leaves behind a little rescue dog named Prince Henry, who was her faithful companion through many of life's storms.
The family wishes to thank everyone at the St. Joseph Hospice in Mississippi and Louisiana for the dignified compassionate care they gave "Miss Jackie". You made this hideous ALS journey bearable for her and her family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Jackie's memory to the Team Gleason Foundation (TeamGleason.Org), P.O. Box 24493, New Orleans, LA. 70184. Team Gleason provides incredible support to ALS patients and their families. #NeverPunt
Through her Christ-like example Miss Jackie spread seeds of love everywhere she went. Her garden will bloom and grow forever. The family requests those attending services wear bright and colorful attire to celebrate Jackie and all that she was.
