Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for James Edward Dickens, 66 of Seminary, who passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Reverend Chad Cummins and Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Anita Humphrey and Mr. Bob Thames. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Lott, Austin Lott, Jacob Lott, Bobby Wayne Dickens, Robin Dickens, Alex Dickens, and Jack Lott.
Mr. Dickens was born on February 2, 1951 in Natchez, Mississippi. He was a retired construction worker. Mr. Dickens was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dewitt Dickens and Ida Lou Duckworth Dickens.
Survivors include two sisters, Zetta Dickens Clark and her husband, James Earl of Seminary, and Ina Marilynn Dickens of Purvis; two nephews, James Clark, III and Wesley Clark, and his wife Julie; two nieces, Michelle Clark, and Trichi Clark Murphy, and her husband, Zach; two great nephews, Kenneth Clark Murphy and John Wesley Clark; and one great niece, Sara Lillie Murphy.
