James Auther Greer

(November 7, 1962 – March 20, 2020)

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Jesus Name Holy Hill Cemetery in Mount Olive for James Auther Greer, 57 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Interment will follow in the Jesus Name Holy Hill Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Greer was born on November 7, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a construction worker by trade. Mr. Greer worked for numerous companies throughout his career such as Heber Newton Ceramics and Jim Walters Homes. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-D ay Saints in Collins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Jean Greer.

Survivors include his mother, Lena Maie Sims Greer of Collins; two sisters, Kimberly Ann Greer-Caves of Mount Olive and Aleshia Marie Greer of Collins; one brother, Steven Eugene Greer, and his wife, Sarah of Mize; eight nieces and nephews; and twenty-two great nieces and nephews.
