James Jay Mills
(January 7, 1947 – June 26, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Williamsburg Baptist Church in Collins for James Jay Mills, 77 of Collins, who passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at his residence in Collins, MS.

Brother Ronnie Purser will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Lori Dickens.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Williamsburg Baptist Church, 912 Lake Mike Conner Road, Collins, MS.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Mills, Greg Mills, Gregory Graves, Thomas (Duck) Buckley, Austin Craft, and Bobby Allen.

Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He loved woodworking and refinishing furniture. Jimmy was very involved in his church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Allen Mills; sons, Michael Mills and Russell Mills; parents, James Harvey Mills and Juanita King Hanegan; one brother, Leonard Taylor Mills and one sister, Carmen Lorraine Mills Davis.

Survivors include his sister, Sherry Lee Mills Scott of Wiggins, MS;  four nephews, Ricky Mills (Sheryl) of Hattiesburg, Greg Mills of Hattiesburg, Leonard Mills, Jr. (Shelia) of Oak Grove and Benjamin Scott of Pensacola; one niece, Crystal Scott Molina of Wiggins.
