Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Union South Baptist Church for James Bradford Mooney, 67 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his residence.

Dr. Barry Armstrong will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union South Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites at graveside. Special music will be provided by Mr. Noah Sanford and Reverend Brent Wade. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins and from 12:00 noon until service time on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Hebert, Tim Davis, Jessie Shoemaker, Robbie Rutledge, Randy Fairley, and Chance Speed. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sanford Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Mooney was born on December 31, 1949 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He retired from the automotive industry after numerous years of service as a mechanic. Mr. Mooney was a member of the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary. He was a volunteer fireman for the Sanford Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Archie Mooney and C.W. Wade.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Quick Mooney of Seminary; two daughters, Michelle Mooney Brock and her husband, Jeff and Rebecca Mooney Ezell and her husband, William, all of Seminary; his mother, Ruby Lowery Wade of Collins; four sisters, Bertha Roberts, Vickie Harrell, and Maxine Anderson, all of Seminary, and Teresa Herring of Beaumont; one brother, Archie Mooney of Seminary; seven grandchildren, Devin Brock, Dakota Brock, Abbie Menjivar, Maria Hernandez, Leonardo Hernandez, Ava Grace Hernandez, and Anna Grace Ezell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
