James Anthony Ponder

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Cooley Springs Baptist Church in Mount Olive for James Anthony Ponder, 53 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Brother Wayne Woolwine will officiate the services with interment to follow in the Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive guests from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Cooley Springs Baptist Church, Cooley Springs Road, Mount Olive, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be John Dossett, Zame Goldman, Barry Watts, Johnny Feazell, and Harvey Easterling. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Brown.
Anthony was a graduate of Mount Olive High School class of 1990. He was passionate about his roofing business and serving his community. In his free time, Anthony enjoyed all things sports, fishing, golf, and being outdoors. Above all, spending time with his family is what brought him the most joy in life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Bounds Ponder.
Survivors include his father, Sam Ponder of Mount Olive, a host of aunts, uncles, other family members, and life long friends.
