Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for James D. Riley, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his residence.

Brother Ronnie Sanford will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Davis, Kenneth Yates, Lonnie Smith, Brian Abernathy, A.J. Riley, Randy Wade, Will Parish, and Steve Mauldin.

Mr. Riley was born on July 3, 1935 in Johns, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Riley retired from Fontaine, Inc. after twenty years of service as a welder. He was a member of the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church in Seminary. Mr. Riley proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William David Riley, and Dorsey Riley; his son, James Arthur Riley; four brothers, Martin Riley, Gene Riley, A.J. Riley, and Tommy Riley; and four sisters, Betty May, Estelle Harvey, Helen Bowers, and Maybelle Smith.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Carolyn Parish Riley of Collins; one daughter, Connie Riley Smith, and her husband, Lonnie of Sumrall; one daughter-in-law, Marie N. Riley of Collins; 3 Grandchildren, Keri Eubanks, Abernathy, and her husband, Brian of Pearl, James Arthur "A.J." Riley, II and Brittany Riley, both of Collins; 2 Great-Granddaughters, Ava Abernathy and Ali Abernathy, both of Pearl; one brother, Clifton Riley of Mount Olive; two sisters, Sue Hillman of Wiggins and Barbara Stez of Mobile, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
