Janice Duckworth Daniel

(August 9, 1953 – October 10, 2021)

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive for Janice Duckworth Daniel, 68 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her residence.

Reverend Jerry Beam will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mount Olive City Cemetery.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Mrs. Daniel was born on August 9, 1953 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Winston E. and Dixie Polk Duckworth.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.  Mrs. Daniel earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Accounting from Mississippi College.  She worked for the Mississippi Board of Animal Health for twenty-six years before going to work for Boswell Regional Center in Magee.  Mrs. Daniel retired as an internal auditor in 2011 after eighteen years of service for Boswell Regional Center.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Daniel; and her father, Winston E. Duckworth.

Survivors include her mother, Dixie Polk Duckworth of Mount Olive; a daughter, Marisa Daniel of Slidell, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Kalista Jackson, and Craig Jackson, both of Slidell, Louisiana; one sister, Linda Duckworth Hardin, and her husband, Don of Mount Olive; two nieces, Angela Hardin Davis, and her husband, Brad and Allison Hardin Duckworth, and her husband, Todd, all of Mount Olive; great nephews, and great niece, Jacob Hardin, Wyatt Duckworth, Graham Davis, Will Duckworth, Josh Davis, Jay Duckworth, and Hadlee Davis;  and a host of other family members and friends.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mount Olive, P.O. Box 904, Mount Olive, Mississippi, 39119 or to the Methodist Children's Homes of Mississippi, 805 North Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, Mississippi, 39209
