Jeanette Yawn McKenzie

(August 19, 1942 – February 22, 2021)

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Jeanette Yawn McKenzie, 78 of Garden City, Kansas, who passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the St Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas.

Reverend Hal Hatten will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Willow Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Mrs. McKenzie was born on August 19, 1942 in Collins, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. McKenzie was a seamstress by trade.  She was a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam McKenzie; her parents, Ernest Alden Yawn and Gwendolyn Davenport Yawn; one sister, Doris Sanford; and three brothers, Gary Yawn, Randall Yawn, and Danny Yawn.

Survivors include five children, James Sanford (Jolene) of Garden City, Kansas, Mary Sierra (Joseph) of Columbus, Georgia, Shirley Sanford of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jeffery Sanford (Rhonda) and Richard Sanford (Tina), both of Collins; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Merle Graves (Johnny) of Collins; one brother, Steve Yawn of Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
