Jennifer McCray Baylis-Pickering

(May 25, 1972 – July 10, 2021)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Jennifer McCray Baylis-Pickering, 49 of Sumrall, who passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Brother Brad Roberts and Brother Terry Sanders will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mack Cemetery in Prentiss.  Special music will be provided by Haley Roberts.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie McCray, Tommy Rivers, John Cole, Dion Pitts, Tony Wilson, and Sam Miller.

Jennifer was born on May 25, 1972 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Hollis McCray Jr, and Pansy Pitts McCray.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister.  Jennifer was a graduate of Bassfield High School Class of 1990 and Pearl River Community College with an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and Nursing.  She worked as a travel nurse for numerous years throughout the United States and was currently employed at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  Jennifer was a member of the Santee Baptist Church in Bassfield.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Shauna McCray Bryant and David Bryant; her maternal grandparents, Clifton and Theola Pitts; and her paternal grandparents, Hollis and Lorena McCray.

Survivors include her husband, Christopher Michael Pickering of Sumrall; her parents, Hollis McCray, Jr. and Pansy Pitts McCray of Prentiss; her mother-in-law, Corby Pickering of Petal; one son, Charles Augustus "Gus" Baylis of Sumrall; one brother, Jason McCray, and his wife, Kalee Anna of Prentiss; a niece, Haley Bryant Pipkins, and her husband, Justin of Hattiesburg; a great niece, Scarlett Pipkins of Hattiesburg; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
