Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Jessie Mae Dees, 83 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Lee Faler and Reverend Dennis Campbell will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Heather Duke Wilson. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Brett Anderson, Destin Rivers, Hunter Faler, Robert Bryant, Bruce Holder, and Woodie Odom.
Mrs. Dees was born on February 25, 1936 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, sister, and aunt. Mrs. Dees received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi. She retired from the Covington County Health Department after thirty-three years of service as a Registered Nurse and Coordinating Nurse. Mrs. Dees attended the Salem Baptist Church where she was a member of the Golden Age Sunday School Class. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Russell Dees; her parents, Joe Bak Sr. and Ruby Yawn Bak Keys; her step-parents, Houston Keys and Helen Keys Reynolds; her step-mother, Sara Hitch; her in-laws, Bradis and Johnny Dees; and a nephew, Scotty Thomas Faler.
Survivors include one sister, Geneva Faler, and her husband, Dewitt of Collins; one brother, Joe Bak. Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one nephew, Mike Faler, and his wife, Becky of Collins; two nieces, Sherry Faler Turnage, and her husband, Robert of Collins, and Christy Bak Winters, and her husband, Mark of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
