John Wayne Erwin
(April 6, 1956 – February 23, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home in Collins for John Wayne Erwin, 67 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Regency Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.

Reverend West Garner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Lone Star Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home, 3202 US 49, Collins, MS.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Polk, Chris Brister, Mike Allmon, Willie Jones, Jesse Broom, and Ashel Brumfield

John worked at Ramey's in Collins for twelve years as assistant manager. He loved to fish and be outdoors. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Erwin and Jean Raborn Erwin; one brother, Ben Erwin, Jr. and two sisters, Sue Strickland and Jan Phelps.

Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Barbara Griffith Erwin of Mount Olive, two sons, Joshua Erwin of Mount Olive and Christopher Fields (Tracie) of Moselle; one brother, Danny Erwin (Tracy) of Summit; one grandson, Joshua Keath Erwin of Call Texas and three granddaughters, Kaylee Erwin of Call, Texas, Camryn Ponder of Call, Texas and Calin Taylor (Keith) of Bay Springs.
