Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church in Seminary for John Phillip Leggett, 86, of Seminary, who passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his residence in Seminary, MS.
Rev. Robert Arinder will officiate the services with interment to follow in the Eminence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church, 190 Ray Harvey Rd, Seminary, MS 39479.
Pallbearers will be Herschel Perrin Sr., Herschel Perrin Jr., Tyler Heath, Tyler Johnson, Jonathan Leggett, and Matt Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Leggett and Danny Leggett.
Mr. Leggett, born June 14, 1936, grew up in Seminary before moving to Hattiesburg upon his marriage. He worked with Leggett Flooring and was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Leggett; daughter, Patricia Byrd; father, Carly Leggett; mother, Inez Eaton Leggett; brother, George Leggett, Sr.; sister, Jean Wallace.
Survivors include his son, John B Leggett (Sandra) of Seminary, MS; daughters, Mary Williams of Seminary, MS and Marie Arinder of Collins, MS; 10 Grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
