Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Johnnie Roberson Jones, 85 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Covington County Hospital.

Bro. Dennis Campbell will officiate at the services with interment to follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Mize, MS.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Mrs. Johnnie was born on March 18, 1935 in Mize, MS.  She was a graduate of Mt. Olive High School where she was a 1 ^st string basketball stand out for the Pirates.  She continued her college career at Draughn School of Business in Jackson, MS.  She made her career as an Executive Assistant and was the first female employed by Georgia Pacific Corporation in Taylorsville, MS.  She retired from Mississippi Department of Health after many years of service.  After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to visit her son in Atlanta and touring the Appalachian Mountains in the Carolinas. She was also very active overseeing the cattle farm established by her sons where she remained a decision maker her entire life.

Mrs. Johnnie was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mize, MS as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Van and Ruby Sullivan Roberson, her brother W. J Roberson, and her son Aubrey Davis Spell.

Survivors include her son John Walter Jones, wife Angela and one granddaughter, Johnna Suzanne Jones.

Pallbearers include Dale McClemore, Ray Sullivan, Hubert West, Hulon West, Randy West, and Tony West.

Honorary Pallbearers include Serita Daniels, Doris McDonald, Carol Ezell, Jan Sullivan, Henrietta Stewart, Bill Allen, and Dr. Joseph E. Johnston.
