Johnnie Dell Lightsey King
(August 24, 1940 - March 19, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Johnnie Dell Lightsey King, 81 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at her residence.

Brother Wayne Woolwine and Brother Reed McDaniel will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Pauline Lightsey, Mrs. Karen Lowery and Brother Reed McDaniel. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Highway 49, Collins, MS 39428.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Mrs. King was born on August 24, 1940 in Collins, Mississippi to Earl B. Drennan and Jewel Crosby Drennan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. King worked for Sanderson Farms and the Collins Green Houses for many years. After her retirement, she continued to stay active by cleaning commercial businesses and residential homes. Mrs. King enjoyed quilting and working in her yard. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl B. Drennan and Jewel Crosby Drennan; her husband, Estus Maxie Lightsey and Claude C. King; three sisters, Edna Earl Drennan Mooney, Mary Jo Drennan Madden, and Sarah Drennan Graves, and five brothers, Jimmy Drennan, Jerry Drennan, Douglas Drennan, W.F. Drennan, and Buford Drennan.

Survivors include one son, Darrell Lightsey, and his wife, Terry of Collins; one daughter, Nancy Lightsey McDaniel, and her husband, Chris of Mount Olive; one step daughter, Angela Rose King of Austin, Texas; one sister, Ann Drennan Loucks of Headland, Alabama; a special friend, John Allen Ross of Collins; five grandchildren, Lindsay McDaniel Sullivan(Zach), Reed McDaniel (Lynsey), Kaci Lightsey Trigg (Marshal), Kelli Lightsey Logan (Kyle), and Blake Lightsey (Victoria Tilson); eleven great-grandchildren, Ty, Cope, River, Maverly, Aubrey-Anne, Wrigley, Tucker, Jack Benton, Walker, Callyn, and Westyn; and a host of nieces and nephews.
