Johnnie Vee Sanford Lowery

(May 4, 1939 – June 16, 2019)

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Johnnie Vee Sanford Lowery, 80, of Seminary, MS who passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her residence.

Rev. Roy Craft, Rev. Ronnie Sanford and Rev. Teddy Cranford will officiate at the services. Interment will be held Friday June 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Shirley Sanford Family Cemetery in Seminary, MS.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

She was multi-talented and had accomplished many skills including floral design, horticulture, ceramics, and sewing. She was an avid reader and a great southern cook. She got a thrill shopping sales and loved the Great Smokey Mountains. Her life was centered around her church which she attended her entire life and she was passionate about quality time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Captain Shirley Sanford and Iona M. Sanford; granddaughter, Jacia Craft; great grandchildren, Piper Cranford and Preston Gatwood and brothers, Hubert Sanford, Herbert Sanford, Hershel Sanford, Howard Sanford, Herman Sanford and Leon Sanford.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Rayford Lowery; daughter, Shirli Lowery Craft (Roy), Seminary, MS; son, Charles Randall Lowery, Seminary, MS; grandchildren, Jenica Cranford, Seminary, MS, Rodney Lowery, (Karen), Seminary, MS, Heidi Moore (Jonathan), Seminary, MS, J.I. Gatwood (Tim), Bassfield, MS; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Rev. Hulon Sanford (Marell), Richland, MS; sister, Evonne Warren (Gene), Seminary, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Dillard, Raymond Kitchens, Rodney Lowery, Jonathan Moore, Ricky Sanford and Roger Sanford.
