Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Johnnie Rose Sellers Gentry of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Brother Reese Douglas, Jr and Brother Joe Lott will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Marsha and Steve Wade, Alesha Smith, and Happy Sanders Sullivan. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Coty Dalrymple, Ed Williams, Brad Wade, Billy Joe Lowery, Gentry Reed, Tyler Gentry, and Alex Gentry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Sanders, Eric Epps, Trent Townley, Chris Williams, Kyle Smith, Philip Worthington, Jay Johnson, and Layne McLaurin.

Mrs. Gentry was born on December 29, 1928 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Gentry was a lifelong farmer and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Springhill Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Virgil Sellers and Jewel Burnham Sellers; her husband, Meddie Joe Gentry; a son-in-law, Richard Allen "Rick" Hilsabeck; one grandson, Audi Lowery; and one sister, Janet Sellers Sullivan.

Survivors include six daughters, Diann Gentry Hilsabeck Dalrymple of Hudson, Florida, Debbie Gentry Williams (Dale) of Collins, Gail Gentry Lowry (Jimmy) of Gulfport; Marsha Gentry Wade (Steve) of Ellisville, LeNae Gentry Shores (Henry) of Mount Olive, and Fronda Gentry Reed of Brentwood, California; two sons, Joel Gentry (Elaine) of Collins and Jay Gentry (Susan) of Wiggins; sixteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one brother, Clem Sellers of Collins; one sister, Ruby Sasser of Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews
