Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Johnny Thad Rogers, 81 of Hot Coffee, who passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his residence.
Reverend Bob Rogers will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Barnes Cemetery in Taylorsville. Special music will be provided by Mr. Marty Windham. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be John Al Rogers, Bryce Rogers, Seth Rogers, John Michael Graham, David Dees, and Mason Parker.
Mr. Rogers was born on January 20, 1936 in Hot Coffee, Mississippi. He retired from Masonite Corporation in Laurel after thirty-three years of service as a millwright. Mr. Rogers was a member and deacon of the Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie Burlon Rogers and M.L. Rogers; his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret Windham Rogers; and two brothers, Ray William Rogers and Joseph Burlon Rogers.
Survivors include one son, Johnny Fred Rogers and his wife, Patricia of Taylorsville; two grandchildren, John Al Rogers and Tonya Rogers Gelston; three great-grandchildren, John Michael Graham, Bryce Rogers, and Seth Rogers; one sister, Charity Maurine Rogers Sitz of Taylorsville; and a host of other family members and friends.
