Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Jolyn Brock Rogers, 79 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at her residence.
Elder Joe Lott and Elder Wayne Woolwine will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Elaine Lowery and Mrs. Happy Sullivan. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Mike Rogers, Michael Rogers, Jason Kitchens, Colby Mars, Brandon Mars, and Colton Burden. Honorary pallbearers will be Dion Holder and Chad Pipkins.
Mrs. Rogers was born on April 8, 1940 in Covington County, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Rogers retired from Piggly Wiggly after thirty years of service in the meat department. She loved to cook for her family and for everyone to come eat at her house especially at Thanksgiving. She made a special dressing that no one else could attempt. Mr. Rogers said that no one could cook like her – "it had a special taste". Mrs. Rogers was a member of Sanford Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugie Joseph "E.J." Brock and Verdie Isabel Dossett Brock; and one brother, Charles Brock.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, T.W. Rogers of Seminary; four children, Cynthia Diane "Cindy" Moore (Joe) of Perkinston, Mike Rogers (Vesta) of Moss Point, Kelly Rogers of Seminary, and Stephanie Holder (Dion) of Moss Point; three sisters, Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Karolyi of Seminary, Lois Simmons of Hattiesburg, and Sarah Carley of Purvis; one brother, Jimmy Brock of Mobile, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Jason Kitchens, Colby Mars, Brandon Mars, Michael Rogers, Colton Burden, Baleigh Pipkins, and Anna Grace Holder; four great-grandchildren, Jayslin Mars, Bryson Mars, Jasley Kitchens, and Stetson Rogers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
