Josephine McQueen Magee Wade

(September 11, 1940 – August 2, 2026)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Leaf River Baptist Church in Collins for Josephine McQueen Magee Wade, 85 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Reverend Britt Williamson and Reverend Eddie Hartfield will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Leaf River Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Ann Rogers and Miss Landry Jo Magee. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi, 39428 and visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Leaf River Baptist Church, 898 Leaf River Church Road, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.

Her pallbearers will be Russell Dickinson, Billy Ellzey, Michael Taormina, Lee Taormina, Kevin Polk, and Mark Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Leaf River Baptist Church.

Mrs. Josephine was born on September 11, 1940, in Collins, Mississippi, to Truitt and Eunice Quick McQueen. She was a graduate of Collins High School and earned an associate of arts degree in nursing from Jones County Junior College. Josephine worked in the healthcare industry for over forty years in Covington County and Hattiesburg. She was a member of the Leaf River Baptist Church in Collins. Josephine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Truitt and Eunice Quick McQueen; her former husbands, Robert Lynn and Truitt Magee; her son, James Truitt Magee; her son-in-law, Bobby McDonald; a grandson, Kacey Workman; and one brother, Pete McQueen.

Survivors include her husband of seventeen years, Wiley Tom Wade of Collins; one daughter, Reka Lynn McDonald of Seguin, Texas; one son, Jay Magee, and his wife, Mooney of Collins; one sister, Faye Pridgen of Collins; two grandchildren, Kasie Duckworth, and her husband, Jake of Seguin, Texas, and Landry Jo Magee of Collins; four great-grandchildren, Caleb Bryant, Jensen Duckworth, Kurt Duckworth, and Lainey Duckworth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
