Judith Adelle Knight Harper

(September 11, 1939 – September 16, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee for Judith Adelle Knight Harper, 83 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022 at her residence.

Brother Justin Patterson will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery in Hot Coffee.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 US Highway 49, Collins, MS, 39428.

Pallbearers will be Justin Harper, Tyler Harper, Koedy Harper, Lance Martin, Alden Blakeney, and G.W. Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaelyn Leitaker, Bryce Odom, Ayden Blakeney, Asher Blakeney, Abram Blakeney, Austyn Blakeney, Caleb Harper, Abigail Harper, Eli Harper, and Samuel Harper.

Mrs. Harper was born on September 11, 1939 in Mount Olive, Mississippi to Dutch and Perniece Stroud Knight.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Mrs. Knight and her husband, Herbert were the owners and operators of the J. & H. Harper Grocery in downtown Hot Coffee for over thirty years.  She was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-one years , Herbert Albert Harper, Jr.; her parents, Dutch and Perniece Stroud Knight;  two brothers, Billy Van Knight, and Joe Knight; and one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Harper.

Survivors include her three sons, David Harper (Kim) of Taylorsville, Eric Harper (Pam) of Pearl, and Kevin Harper of Collins; one brother, Charles Knight (Betty) of Jackson; five grandchildren, Justin Harper (Jenny) of Brandon, Koedy Harper (Danielle) of Memphis, TN., Tyler Harper of Laurel, Amanda Harper Blakeney (Alden) of Mize, and Jordan Harper Martin (Lance) of Brandon; eleven great-grandchildren, Bryce Odom, Ayden Blakeney, Asher Blakeney, Abram Blakeney, Austyn Blakeney, Caleb Harper, Eli Harper, Samuel Harper, Jaelyn Leitaker, Abigail Harper and Amzie Blakeney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
