Judith West Sanford

(February 13, 1942 – August 14, 2026)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August19, 2026, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Judith West Sanford, 84 of Seminary, who passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Dr. Barry Armstrong will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union South Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Susan Deen and Mrs. Babette Duty. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.

Her pallbearers will be Rusty Sanford, Monty Wilson, Rufus Trigg, Ike Sanford, Jason Rowe, and Billy Harrell.

Mrs. Sanford was born on February 13, 1942, in Covington County, Mississippi, to Russell Lamar West and Mary Elizabeth Lott Weaver. She retired from A.T. & T. after thirty-two years of service. Mrs. Sanford was a member of the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and shopping. Mrs. Sanford was a loving wife, sister, and aunt, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Lamar West and Mary Elizabeth Lott Weaver; one sister, Melody Wilson; a niece, Kimberly Comstock; and a nephew, Randy Thames.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Denvil Elton Sanford of Seminary; two sisters, Joyce West Sanford and Celina Elaine Kayser; a half-brother, Larry West; four nieces and nephews, Rusty Sanford, Crysti Guthrie Carter, Shannon Sanford Koss, and Monty Wilson (Amanda); three great nieces and nephew, Tamara Comstock Nelson, Hunter Carter (Jamie), Leanna Carter, Tara Ford, Melody Faith Wilson, and Michael Wilson; three great great-nieces and nephews, Kenzie Comstock, Lillian Johnson, and David Nelson Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends.
