Judy Gale Jordan

(June 3, 1947 – April 12, 2024)

Judy Gale Jordan, 76, of Jackson, MS, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 12, 2024.   She was born on June 3rd, 1947, in Mt. Olive, MS, the youngest child of Barney and Myrtle Jordan.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 211 Jaynesville Road, Mt. Olive, MS 39119.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Collin's is handling the arrangements.  (601) 765-1010.

Growing up in Mt. Olive, Judy attended Mt. Olive High School where she graduated with honors.  During high school she was involved in the Baptist Student Union, was a cheerleader, tennis player and named a beauty.  She attended Jones Junior College for two years where she was on the tennis team, elected Tennis Queen, and Beauty.   She received her bachelor's degree in history from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS in 1969 and was on the dean's list.  Upon graduation, she moved to Biloxi, MS where she taught history at Biloxi High School and was beloved by her many students.  Having such an infectious personality, she was named Miss Hospitality of Biloxi.  After teaching, she moved to Atlanta, Ga, changed her career path and joined Southern Airways as a Sales Representative for 20 years.  During that time and after retirement to Jackson, MS to be closer to family, she was able to travel extensively all over the world, with friends and family, totaling 32 countries. She met so many people along the way and loved learning about different cultures.  Judy was passionate about religion, politics, and life in general, always making for interesting conversation.  She lived life to the fullest.  She had a very close family, spending quality time with her siblings and her nieces and nephews.

Her most important passion was her church.  Her most recent church home was Tema Life Church in Jackson, MS, where she has been a member since 2006. She was very involved and met special friends that she cherished.  She dedicated her life to God, always quoting bible verses and making sure that everyone in her family as well as friends were saved.  Her faith always guided her and was the focal point of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Billie King of Mt. Olive, MS and Charlotte Trawick of Canton, Ms.  She leaves behind her brother, Charles Jordan (Julie) of Brandon, MS, her sisters Eva Thomas of Jackson, MS, Barbara Almaguer of The Woodlands, Tx and numerous nieces and nephews.
