Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Julian Stanley Knight, 63 of Mt. Olive, who passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.
Reverend Jon Neal will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the New Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.
Pallbearers will be Steve Graham, Christian McQueen, Gary Cook, Buddy Barr, Doug Clark, and David Bankston. Honorary pallbearers will be William Allen, Matt Walley, Mike Walley, and Tex Walley.
Mr. Knight was born on February 4, 1961, in Jackson, Mississippi to Lynn Knight Sr., and Dorothy Burrell Knight. He was a graduate of the Mt. Olive High School Class of 1979 and attended Jones County Junior College. Mr. Knight worked in the road construction industry for the most of his adult life until his health declined. He was a member of the Mt. Olive First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Knight, Sr. and Dorothy Burrell Knight; and his brother, Lynn Knight, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Barbara Walley Knight of Mt. Olive; two sons, Colton Stanley Knight and Logan Tanner Knight, both of Mt. Olive; two brothers-in-law, Tex Walley, and his wife, Becky, and Mike Walley, all of Taylorsville; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Knight of Mt. Olive, and Doris Pruitt of Hattiesburg; six nieces and nephews, Stephanie Knight, Lynn Knight, III, Matt Walley, Joey Walley, Tiffany Walley Hall, and Sandy Pruitt; his faithful canine companion, Bo Knight; and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
